How the number of days is calculated

The calculator compares two calendar dates as date-only values. This correctly handles leap years and avoids daylight-saving-time drift.

28.02.2024 → 01.03.2024 = 2 days

2024 is a leap year, so there are two calendar days between 28 February and 1 March.

Is the end date included in the result?

Not by default. Enable “Include end date” when both boundary dates should be counted.

Are leap years handled?

Yes. The calculation uses the real Gregorian calendar, including 29 February in leap years.

What if the end date is earlier than the start date?

The calculator shows the positive absolute span between the dates and displays a notice that the dates were entered in reverse order.

Does this calculate workdays, holidays or time zones?

No. This tool calculates calendar dates only. Workdays, public holidays, time of day and time zones are outside this calculation.
